Hey girlfriends. We are currently sold out. We added 500 spots this year and capped out at 1500 women - yes, 5 months before the race! Can you believe it?! The city wants to ensure our current location can manage that many gals. If we want to grow the event further, we may need to move locations next year. So next year, sign up way early and if you're not doing anything that day, please come on out and cheer on and/or volunteer to help out. A Half Marathon designed specifically for women to get together to do something good for themselves and to help support a very important women's cause.
How do you describe your best girlfriend? You love to hang with her – no matter what you’re doing. You can tell her anything without judgment. She inspires you to do and be better. She lifts you up and empowers you. She helps you to see the bright side when you’re going through a tough time. You can laugh and cry and sometimes just do nothing with her. So who is your best girlfriend? Is it your mom, your sis, your daughter, someone you’ve known for years or someone you just met recently? One thing is consistent – it’s someone you connect with on a deep level, a soul sister. And bottom line - when girlfriends get together they can accomplish anything! There’s nothing better, more beautiful than a bunch of strong, powerful, passionate women on a mission! And that’s why collectively, as a group of determined gals, we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. Plus when you cross the finish line, you can’t imagine how that positively impacts YOUR entire life. Notice: There are no refunds issued for your registration however, we do offer the opportunity to transfer your registration to next year's event or to transfer your registration to another participant on the waiting list - which will mean more donations to Susan G. Komen! This transfer must happen at least 2 weeks before the event. After that it gets too crazy and we will be unable to process any transfers. Sorry girlfriend, you'll be out of luck at that point!

13.1 mile mostly flat and scenic course traveling along historic Officer’s Row, Fort Vancouver, the Columbian Riverfront and more. This course is so pretty, the miles may even fly by! It’s a great course for a Personal Best!

10:00-11:00 Yoga for Runners class (space is limited so call or email us to sign up early). Note, if you don't regularly do Yoga, it's not a good idea to start the day before a Half Marathon! :)
11:30-1:00 ChiRunning/ChiWalking - Learn how to improve alignment and patterns of movement to reduce risk of injury.
1:15-2:15 Nutrition Tips for Female Athletes (and yes, you are an athlete!)
2:30-3:30 Must do Exercises and Stretches for Runners and Walkers
3:45-4:45 Girlfriends Style - Hey, you work hard to look your best! Learn how to dress so you always highlight your best individual features
Post-event Girly Festivities on Sunday October 18th:
We’re going to work hard to make this event as women-friendly as possible. For example,
• Enjoy chocolate at the finish line – every girlfriend loves chocolate!
• Be treated to a massage after you conquer the event
• Sit and relax and chat with other cool women like yourself after you finish – that’s what girlfriends do best!

What to do to be Prepared:
Girlfriend – how do you finish 13.1 miles? You can run, jog, walk or crawl. We don’t care as long as you get there. Unfortunately, for liability reasons, no bikes, skateboards or rollerblades are allowed. Although wouldn’t that be a cool sight to see a bunch of moms and grandmas roller-blading for 13.1 miles. Are Jogger strollers allowed? Well, 13.1 miles for the kiddies might be a little much. Unless you don’t mind hearing “Mom, How much longer?” for a couple hours. Yeah, it might be a good idea to find a sitter for this one and just enjoy the event with your girlfriends. But invite the kids to come and see you finish. You’ll provide an awesome role model for them. Drop subtle hints about how much you’d love for them to have flowers and balloons for you at the finish line. And be sure they make signs for you. Some of our favorites are “Go Mommy Go” or “My Grandma’s a rock-star!”. Or maybe get them a white shirt that they can decorate with encouraging words like “My Mom can run faster than Your Mom!”
Be sure to train with us at Northwest Personal Training or Northwest Women's Fitness Club so you can be in the best shape of your life and cross the finish line.

What to Bring:
Bring the obvious - running/walking shoes, gear depending on weather, your bib number, your chip timing piece etc.
Plus remember to bring a change of clothing so you can enjoy the post-event festivities. Your girlfriends will appreciate that!
